– Completely, completely incomprehensible – NRK Sport – Sports news, results and broadcast schedules

Chelsea, who lost 3-1 in the first quarter-finals, turned things around and briefly took a 3-0 lead at the Santiago Bernabéu.

But a goal from Rodrygo ten minutes from the end put the game into extra time.

There, an online acquaintance of super striker Karim Benzema confirmed Real Madrid can still cheer for a ticket to the Champions League semi-finals with a 5-4 overall.

The winning goal was Karim’s 38th Big Game goal in 38 games for Real Madrid this season, 12 of which came in the Champions League.

– He’s not a guy who does overtime or gets the fans out of the chair. He has a level of efficiency through all aspects of his game, says Rio Ferdinand at studio BT sports, who believes that children should see Karim Benzema and the way he plays football.

– Really, really unimaginable

But what was talked about a lot after the game was the situation that saved Real Madrid ten minutes from time when the game seemed to end in Chelsea’s win.

– He is a phenomenon, said Ferdinand.

Luka Modric did try to finish, but from an awkward position, sent the ball to the away fans. Rodrygo had a fantastic chance to put Rodrygo ahead again in the 35th minute, but his shot just hit the crossbar.

– To pass. This is completely, utterly incomprehensible, says TV 2 commentator yvind Alsaker.

– It should be impossible to hit the post like that with the outside of the foot from that position, he’s probably the only one in the world who can do it. And he does it in an expert way, adds TV 2 expert Jesper Mathisen.

This pass is now winning worldwide. It was just a piece of art that the 36 year old man followed.

– The feed from Modric is one of the wildest I’ve ever seen, wrote football commentator Kenneth Fredheim on Twitter.

Which team deserves to advance?

Chelsea’s Antonio Rüdiger believes that Luka Modric and Karim Benzema are the big difference between the two teams.

– It was a win or lose game for us. Nobody thought we would be three goals ahead before the game started, but the individual class with Modric and Benzema was revealed. Now we are here, says Rüdiger Sky Sports after losing.

Praise the opponent

The main character himself is very proud and happy that Real Madrid managed to calm down in the progress of the country in the end.

– It’s amazing. We were dead before the first goal we scored. I can’t say we played a bad game, but Chelsea took their chances well and scored three good goals. We didn’t give up and showed great character, Modric summed up Sky Sports.

The 36-year-old agrees that experience played a big part in the win, but believes it is a real struggle. He had been prepared for it beforehand.

– Experience plays a role, but for me Chelsea are the most difficult team to play against. I watch it often, because my friend Mateo (ed.am Kovačić) plays there. This is a very tough physical team, and we know it will be difficult. A very sweet victory, continued Modric.

– For a thriller

It was Chelsea who were leading 1-0 already after 15 minutes when Mason Mount found the net with a fine shot.

When Antonio Rüdiger equalized with a header five minutes into the second half, Real Madrid’s lead from the first game suddenly evaporated.

The guests thought the turnaround operation was over when Marcos Alonso scored 3-0 in the 62nd minute. minutes of play, but the goal was rightly canceled out by VAR due to one hand in front of Alonso’s end.

– For a thriller, TV 2 commentator yvind Alsaker correctly stated.

A quarter of an hour before the end, however, the visitors were able to unleash a cheer without VAR being able to spoil the excitement. Timo Werner pops the ball into the box and dribbles to two or three opponents before making it 3-0 to C-elsea.

But Real Madrid hit back soon after.

Luka Modric (36) showed he still has magic in his feet when he, with the outside of his right foot from 35 meters, found Rodrygo with a fantastic pass and Rodrygo got an easy job of reducing.

As such, the two teams are evenly spaced and there is extra time at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Just six minutes into the first half, Real Madrid scored again when Karim Benzema found the ball from Vinícius Júnior and headed it 3-2 and the hosts’ goal.

Chelsea never managed to fight back, and thus a great football match ended in a 5-4 win overall for Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid team.

The semifinals have been drawn, and Real Madrid will face either Manchester City or Atlético Madrid in the final hurdle before the final.

This will be decided on Wednesday night, and City have a 1-0 lead before the last game.

The Champions League semifinals were played on 26 and 27 April. The final kicks off at the Stade de France in Paris on 28 May.
