The fire service has great power at the scene, and works diligently with the fire. At 10:44 p.m. it was reported that the fire was under control, but it is likely that firefighters will be working on the scene until tomorrow.

– This is a bigger and older log house. It has gone through the roof, so that’s what we call full over-ignition, Ole-Martin Isebakke, task manager at Øst-110, told VG at 20.45.

No one has been reported missing, and the police have control over the occupants of the house.

At 10:13 p.m., police reported on Twitter that a nearby address had been evacuated, but they were being cleared to go home.

OVERIGNITION: There is complete overignition at the Swiss villa in Nesodden.

– The reason is a lot of sparks from the fire, and there are old wooden houses in the area, operations manager Terje Marstrand told Polsek Timur to VG.

– The walls of the burning house collapsed, causing lots of sparks. It spreads with the wind, and can cause field fires, he added.

He stated that the nearest residence was only 50 meters away.

Marstrand called the situation a “critical phase”, and recommended neighbors getting out with water hoses around their homes. He also advised neighbors to close the windows because there was a lot of smoke.

– Is there a risk of spread?

– Now. There is no risk of spread from the fire itself, but sparks are dangerous, Marstrand said at 10:13 p.m.

At 10:10 p.m., Isebakke stated that firefighters were still working at the site.

– It’s a demanding job there. I think we’ll probably stay there until tomorrow.
