Hegerberg and Graham reunite: – Know we can wreak havoc at the top

– It’s great to be back here with the gang again. “We’re going to use the days leading up to the European Championships well and make sure we’re very “sharp” when we come to England,” Hegerberg said after training in which he acted with Graham Hansen in all sequences of the game.

– We know each other’s qualities and know that we can create chaos at the top.

Graham Hansen agrees, and he is not surprised that Norwegian opponents fear the leading duo.

– We have a great tone on and off the pitch, and I think it will be very easy to continue. I think the others are right to be afraid of our links. The meeting went well in April, and then we didn’t play together for five years. “Before that, we have played with each other throughout our careers, and it would be really cool if we also got him in the championship,” said the Barcelona star.

While other foreign professionals have been busy with the European Championship for several weeks, it was a first day for Hegerberg, Graham Hansen and Ingrid Syrstad Engen, who have been in the club season far longer than the others. Also for the domestic players in the EC squad, the run-up started in earnest on Monday.

Better than before

Norway also came to the previous European Championship with Hegerberg and Graham Hansen at the top, but then ended up with a disappointing run of form, three defeats and an early return. After that, Hegerberg said no to the national team, and it was only this spring that he returned.

– We have more experience than five years ago. We have played for a long time in Europe, experienced the level and won a lot for each of us. It is important to be included in this gang. We also have Maren (Mjelde) and Guro (Reiten) at Chelsea who have experienced a lot and won a lot. It is important to bring such experiences and add to the list. It can help others, says Hegerberg.

Since 2017, Norway has also played the World Cup, without Hegerberg, where the team reached the quarter-finals.

– Few thought we would go to the World Cup. We ended up in the death group, but we reached the quarter-finals. We’ve been three years older since that championship, and it’s a very interesting looking team. We have brought in new players, Ada is back and Maren is back. This gives us great security. “Now it’s about finding interaction over the next two weeks before we go to the UK,” said Graham Hansen.

Learn a lot

– We have learned a lot from everything that happened in 2017 and are well aware that there is a short road between success and failure. I hope things go our way this time and we can help shape the championship,

Hegerberg realized that the stars had to offer their experience to help many people who had never been to a championship before.

– When I was younger, I really appreciated seeing the professionalism of the older ones, those who have won something. At the meeting, I gave the iron and myself. This is a very good group, a positive group, and I want to contribute as much as I can.

The national team has an ambitious target in the form of medals. Hegerberg believed it was right to aim high, but also pointed out the need for realism,

– The European Championship is a complicated championship, we saw it last time. We were in the final in 2013, so we didn’t pick up a single point in 2017. We know we have the quality, but at the same time we know that it is a great challenge. We must be ambitious, but not fool ourselves. We have to work hard every day.
