Johannes Klebo. A man who does whatever he wants

Norwegian Klaebo is the prototype of the modern successful Norwegian athlete, the idol of social networks. On the track, he drives his opponents crazy with his style and performance.

He holds many records – as the youngest man in history to win the World Cross Country Cup, the prestigious Tour de Ski, the World Championships and the Olympics.

He became the most successful male sprinter in World Cup history and set a new record for most sprint titles overall – 4. He also now has the most wins in World Cup history – 68, surpassing two other phenoms, compatriot Bjorn Dahlie and Swede. Gunde Svan.

He has brought home five gold, silver and bronze medals from two Olympics. Nine gold, two silver and bronze medals from four WC.

He orientated himself perfectly in the sprint pack, unattainable in the decisive sprint and, finally, unmatched in the final sprint itself. At the same time, he doesn’t care whether he skates or rides classically. He handles both techniques equally well.

Otherwise, with his always perfect figure, face, haircut, he looks more like a mannequin conquering social networks and stunning girls.

He made his World Cup debut at the age of 19 in the 2015/16 season, when he showed his potential. In one year, he has already won the World Cup race and the overall standings in the sprint three times. Since then, he has racked up an endless string of wins and podiums.

His resume is exemplary, nearly spotless. Klaebo, sport, family and sport again. He was born in Oslo and at the age of two he received cross-country skis from his grandfather Kåre for Christmas. At the age of five, he moved to Trondheim, where he still lives today in close association with his extended family. Pastor Haakon is the manager and grandfather Kåre is the coach. The young man fooled around with football for a long time, but in the end won cross-country.

We have already written that he is also very good at social networks. Together with his younger brother Ola, he owns a YouTube channel where they upload videos about everyday life as athletes. He wanted people to see what cross country runners were doing out of competition and off season. Videos on the channel, which sister Ane occasionally helps out with, have millions of views. For example, the video in which Klaebo parodies Forrest Gump was very successful.

Today, she also frequently appears on the network with her boyfriend from Norway. She didn’t want to get married for a long time, but after her success at the 2018 Olympics, when she won three gold medals, she found Pernille Døsvik, a year younger Norwegian hailing from Trondheim.

In March 2019, the Sør-Trøndelag District Court sentenced him to 16 days in prison and a fine of over 20,000 kroner for a traffic accident at a roundabout when he collided with a stationary car. A 12 year old girl was injured in the accident. Klaebo came to his senses, but still lost his driving license for nine months.

A year later in February, he accidentally cut short his running season when, after going bowling with friends, he hit the boxing machine so awkwardly that he broke his finger. He had to miss four World Cup races through injury, which at least kept him out of his overall World Cup title fight with Russia’s Alexander Bolshunov.

But otherwise: a ski champion.
