After several hours, Prague detectives arrested a suspect who, they said, attacked and stabbed a forty-four year old man in Anděla this morning. Currently, they are conducting standard criminal proceedings with the suspect, police announced on Twitter. The man who was attacked, who suffered serious injuries, was taken to the Motol hospital conscious.

In the case of the attack on Anděla, rescue crews intervened along with a doctor and treated a 44-year-old man after the attack. He suffered serious injuries, but was conscious during treatment and transportation, and was later transferred to the Motolská hospital.

Police spokeswoman Violeta Siřišťová said shortly after the incident that dozens of police officers and criminal investigators were searching for the perpetrators on the premises and in the surrounding area and were investigating other circumstances of the attack. Just before 2pm, the police announced that they had arrested the suspect. Detectives from the homicide department took over the case and started criminal proceedings for the crime of bodily harm, police announced twitter. In relation to this case, we are limiting the personal freedom of one more person who was present at the attack and then fled the scene with the suspect,” police said.
