People don’t quarantine messages. System overload

“Due to the large number of laboratory results received, there were some system slowdowns, which could cause delays in tracking (including SMS about self-tracking). In this case, please pay attention to quarantine. We are working on optimizing the system and we apologize for the complications,” it wrote. Smart Quarantine Twitter account.

Underneath the post, some people complain that they wait 60 hours for a message. This can cause problems for them, for example, at work, where they must report their inability to work or quarantine as soon as possible.

There’s also a problem with self-billing forms, where people can name their contacts from the days before the infection itself based on calls in incoming SMS.

System overload

According to NAKIT spokesman Lukáš Trnka, which provides Smart Quarantine from a technical point of view, the significant slowdown in the system is due to the overload of the Infectious Disease Information System (ISIN), where laboratories or hospitals report positive cases. But there are also testing requests, which are currently in large numbers due to the spread of the highly contagious variant of omicron.

As of Tuesday, tests revealed 42,073 were infected, of which 39,614 were new cases and 2,459 were suspected of having repeated infections.

According to Trnka, a more detailed answer should be provided by the Ministry of Health. Its subordinate organization, the Institute for Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS), manages the ISIN system. Spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Ondřej Jakob, asked about the news.

“We are working hard to make amends. The system has been partially accelerated,” said Jakob shortly before 17.00.
