We Cover It

The game Redfall will amaze you with a rich and beautiful open world, lots of weapons and a variety of enemies. Even today, players will not regret that they decided to plunge into the latest masterpiece from the Arkane studio.

Redfall is amazing in so many ways. However, it was held back by some confusing design decisions regarding teamwork and some frustrating technical woes. The game is a lot of fun alone and absolutely amazing in co-op. It would probably be the lowest-ranked Arkane title in history, but it would be the most successful ever. Alone or with friends, Redfall is a game that every fan of the genre should play.

IGN Spain

Redfall is the most enjoyable Arkane game yet: no moral dilemmas, no existential questions, just pure fun with friends and alone.

Nexus Games

Redfall is a bigger and wiser game than I expected. It’s great fun in multiplayer, but I enjoyed it more alone. I sneak around with a sniper rifle, shoot vampires from a distance, and I can also play Redfall as a stealth game, which is great fun. There are still some technical issues to be fixed, but there’s plenty of fun to be had for those who are comfortable with the spooky open world.

SpazioGames

Redfall shows some good ideas (especially in level design), but not enough to compete with Arkane’s previous brilliant efforts.

Fanboy Attack

Redfall is by no means a groundbreaking game – but it’s just a fun game at times, and Arkane has created a very enjoyable experience.

Immersive simulator meets up to four co-op players in this first-person vampire shooter featuring decent gameplay but no whimsy.

GameBolt

Redfall is Arkane’s most failed game to date. The attractive environments and some remnants of the developer’s favorite gaming formula aren’t enough to overcome the game’s many problems, from clunky controls and disappointing routine design decisions to a lackluster story and technical flaws.

Good game

Redfall is a disappointment in the realm of open-world first-person shooters, lacking even a hint of the atmosphere or creative solutions we’ve come to expect from Arkane Studios.

GameSpot

Redfall is an unreleased game. Its bug pile hampers the gameplay loop of exploring the world with friends, and the loop itself seems compromised by poorly executed and implemented elements. I can’t pretend to know if Arkane decided to make this game or they were commissioned to make it. As a result, after finishing the game, all that remains is the feeling that my favorite studio has turned into something completely below average.

Hey Poor Player

Between the half-baked gameplay, repetitive open worlds, and abysmal optimization, Redfall feels like a title still in alpha rather than the flagship product of Microsoft’s premium subscription service.
