“I decided to stop for health reasons. Majerová submitted a request to be removed from her post as zoo director in August. At the first council in October, the city council member noted his resignation. If a new director does not take office by January 1, 2024 following a selection process, the board will appoint zoologist Roman Řehák to manage the zoo. The Zoological Park at the Shepherd’s Wall in Děčín was opened in 1949. Today, the park hosts around 450 animals from more than 150 species.
