Ambassador Sabet at the US Destinations Expo

On October 11, 2023, the commercial department of the US Embassy in Prague hosted the second annual US Destinations Expo. The presentation featured five American destinations that are interested in introducing themselves to Czech tourists. The U.S. Embassy’s Department of Commerce has worked with the Czech Republic’s VisitUSA Committee and its global partners, including BrandUSA, to highlight the diverse experiences travel to the United States has to offer. And where to go in the US? Try Fairbanks, Alaska; Orlando, Fla.; North Carolina State, Summit One prospect Vanderbilt in New York or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Also known as the “Golden Heart of Alaska,” Fairbanks is home to a charming downtown, a thriving arts community, vibrant Alaska Indian culture, and incredible events, activities and attractions. Fairbanks’ location is directly beneath the “Aurora Oval” – an annular zone in the far north where aurora activity is concentrated – one of the best places on Earth to see the lights during aurora season, which runs from August 21 to April 21.
