We defended our position; Ukraine’s complaint to the WTO (World Trade Organization) did not impress us, we have no intention to lift the embargo we imposed for this reason – said government spokesman Piotr Müller on Polsat News on Monday.
Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced in a statement that Ukraine on Monday filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia in connection with the extension of the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products by those countries.
This was commented on to Polsat News by government spokesman Piotr Müller.
We defend our position. Such complaints to the WTO do not impress us in the sense that we have no intention of lifting the embargo we imposed because of it. We stand by our position, we believe it to be accurate, it is also the result of economic analysis and the rights generated by EU and international law.
Muller said.
The European Commission did not extend its embargo
On Friday, the European Commission did not extend Ukraine’s grain embargo for five countries – Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania. Following this decision, Warsaw, Budapest and Bratislava extended the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine.
