– The first time I saw the clip, I thought it was in slow motion, says Truls Torp.

Torp is a YouTuber, deadlifter and friend of Emil Lybekk, the moss who this month broke the deadlift record by jumping from a height of 27 meters.

A death chant jump of this height had never been filmed before.

– Emil is always really raw. The 20-member club will now be led by Lybekk, said Torp, who is a former world dødsing champion.

Club 20 is an exclusive collection of deadlifters who jump from a distance of more than 20 meters.

Torp previously held the world record for a death song film with a jump from a height of 25 meters. The record stood until Lybekk broke it in mid-October with a jump on Moss, which has now spread throughout the world.

– The jump is called a classic deadlift, still a deadlift without rotation. It walks a lot, flies a little, and then makes a big splash when it hits the surface of the water. “It was quite beautiful to look at,” Torp said of Lybekk’s performance.

ABC News has attempted to contact Lybekk for comment, but has not been able to reach him. According to Torp, Lybekk was on holiday seeking death in Bali, where there are many cliffs and places to jump.

If you jump from such a height, there is a risk that you could injure yourself and your body from the huge force when you hit the water.

– It’s about having air space around you and having good control over your body. If you master the landing, you’ll come away with bruises, Torp says.

Club 30

Typically, deadlifters jump from a height of ten meters in competition, but some athletes challenge each other to get out of their comfort zones – and keep climbing.

– Jumping from ten meters is already a game, but when you approach 20 meters or more, you feel your heart rate increase, says Torp.

– It’s probably only a matter of time before some people say hello to the 30 club, says Torp.
