HamKam player hospitalized
First, HamKam defender John Olav Norheim (29) was taken away in an ambulance after the 0-3 defeat against Viking. Now the club writes that he has been hospitalized.
– Our centre-back, John Olav Norheim, has been admitted to Stavanger University Hospital for examination, after he felt unwell with a stomach ache following the end of the match on Sunday evening, the club wrote.
As he received treatment right on the bench, the Red Cross lifted a blanket to block the view.
– Norheim is alert and conscious and further investigations will determine how long John Olav will stay in hospital, the club wrote.
Norheim also received help from the Vikings’ medical team. Players leave the field after one hour of play.
– He is conscious and contactable. You can talk to him. He was unable to continue with his teammates, but doctors have ordered an ambulance and admitted him to hospital, medical coordinator at Viking, Halvard Øen Grova told Hamar Arbeiderblad.
HamKam coach Jakob Michelsen was in the interview zone when Norheim was taken away in an ambulance.
– I only know a little at the moment. He was lying on the ground. He even asked to be replaced because he had a stomach ache, said Michelsen.
The 29-year-old previously played for KFUM Oslo, Jerv, Start and Strømmen.
