Until December 2023, TVP INFO station is fighting for the top position among news media with TVN24, now state news television, until recently a broadcasting powerhouse, isn’t even in the top ten.
TVP INFO’s share among all viewers at the end of January less than 2% (1.87%). Almost everyone watches the channel five times fewer viewers than the station from Wiertnicza – This confirms the thesis that TVN24 is the one benefiting financially from the attack on the media, as TVP’s takeover undermines its biggest rival.
The argument in favor of the existence of state media is often the concept that it may not be about high viewership, but rather quality and more ambitious programming. Meanwhile, almost every day, viewers point out increasingly embarrassing mistakes at the taken-over station. Here is a list of ten embarrassing mistakes and inappropriateness:
1. In “Breakfast Matters” reversal is presented positively, including the practice of eviction of tenants. Presenters responded positively to these practices.
2.. The main issues of the news site are presented all Deutsche Welle materials – German broadcasts on Polish television were copied one by one. The topic is… Poland’s attitude towards Germany.
3.. The Central Communication Project project is presented negatively unilaterally – it seems the foreign lobby torpedoed the project with the help of Polish television. Non-political experts consider the material to be highly biased.
4.. One-sided and – again – consistent with the message of foreign lobbyists material praising wind power generation, which the parliamentary majority is trying to support. Additionally, this section of the website was criticized for its incomprehensible exaltation and childishness:
6.. Inconsistencies in the material of “7.30” in which the reporter – Maciej Gąsiorowski – to describe Alzheimer’s disease, he uses the story of his own father, who was not fully aware of what was happening and suffered from this disease..
7.. NeoTVP journalists usually talk about themselves in their journalism. Karolina Opolska because she doesn’t like Dominik Tarczyński, Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz because she is amazing and professional, Marek Czyż because she gives viewers “clean water”. Autotelic television relating to itself!
8.. Technological degradation in the form of weaker graphics, fonts that don’t suit websites, and the simplicity of television studios is no coincidence. Usurper on TVP they consciously provided the building on Powstańców Warszawy Square with modern equipmentaccused the old authorities and PiS lawmakers of abandoning this building and its infrastructure.
9.. When talking or meeting unexpectedly with TVP journalists and reporters, it turns out that many of them don’t understand what they are doing. They don’t know politicians, they don’t know basic legal and state terms, so they report without understanding the incident, let alone the political context.
10.. Internet users constantly see and mock subsequent mistakes (even spelling), errors and distortions of facts. Instead of Papua, viewers see “Papuła”, Zamość is described as a city of several thousand people (which has a population of almost 60,000), Ombudsman Marcin Wiącek presented as Maciej Wąsik, Epiphany is defined as a “state holiday” – etc.
The attacks on the media and lawlessness committed by Tusk and Sienkiewicz’s team were justified by “higher needs” – depoliticization and professionalization. After this attack, TVP was politicized in the interests of the Civil Coalition and German interests, the station that broadcast on a large scale was transformed into provincial television useful for housing in provincial towns, and the scale of its substantive errors was embarrassing.
This model of state takeover will be replicated in subsequent institutions. Under the specious pretext of depoliticization, legal authority will be removed and replaced with obedient scum. Prosecutor’s office, Orlen, Constitutional Court, National Bank of Poland – and so on throughout Poland.
