We hear this every day. Every day we learn that Trump is Hitler, Kaczyński is Hitler, Netanyahu is Hitler, Marine Le Pen is Hitler, Orban is Hitler, etc. There are many of these “Hitlers” in politics today. The whole crowd. But this is actually just the same paranoia and propaganda manipulation! This “reductio ad Hitlerum” has been going on for decades and continues to grow.
Any politician who opposes left-wing ideas and transnational globalization plans may fall victim to such propaganda.
We recently celebrated the 85th anniversary of the German attack on Poland and the start of World War II. This is a good time to realize something important: it was not a right-wing country with a right-wing ideology that attacked Poland at that time! And this is how the wrong perception goes – this false vision is consolidated, even becomes a dogma. And this still has consequences in politics and our understanding of the world around us.
Hitler’s state was not a right-wing state
The right wing is “small countries and a lot of freedom.” Hitler’s state was far from such a model. IN THE Third Reich there are many states (totalitarian, all-encompassing and brutal) and almost no freedom. However Hitler came to power with the help of the right, who wanted to finish off the left at the hands of the Nazis, Nazi Germany was not right wing. This country is not a left-wing ideology or a left-wing country, even in name only NSDAP lies in the name of the party: “socialist”. It is a “one-of-a-kind” state, unique, beyond the criteria that define left and right. Its ideology was a mixture of German nationalism, racism, anti-Semitism and primitive “social Darwinism” typical of those years. However, it was the false label “right wing” that was effectively attached to Nazi Germany, Hitler, and Nazism. And as a result of this manipulation, a general mechanism was created to label any right-wing manifestation – primarily patriotism – nationalism, then racism, anti-Semitism, and then loudly announce that it is fascism.
It’s not good to fight evil
Since Hitler was ultimately defeated by Stalin’s army – whose dictatorship became a historical symbol of the extreme communist regime – the left acquired, permanently and completely against the facts, the status of an ideology representing goodness and nobility. The reasoning behind this is simple: if the right wing is the same as Hitler, and Hitler was evil, then the left wing – as his opposite – must be good! This is a common belief. Not historians, but many “ordinary” people. Meaning: let’s forget the millions of victims of communism! Just pretend they don’t exist.
There is nothing more wrong than this attitude. Stalin’s war with Hitler was not a war between good and evil, but rather two giant evils fighting each other to the death. And the stronger evil wins without being good at all – because of this victory.
“It doesn’t work because the person is wrong”
This wrong interpretation of history has major consequences. Leftists see themselves as the good guys. Since they are against the right, and “the right is Hitler”, they are against evil, so they automatically have to be good. Millions, entire Himalayan corpses – victims of leftist ideology – this is not a problem for them at all. That is why in the West there is still sympathy for the left, or at least a profane understanding of the left. The common belief is that the wrong people are trying to implement the ideals of communism, as some primitive Slavs and Asians did in the 20th century. That’s why it doesn’t work for them. We can do it. Perhaps this is why no left-wing politician has been accused of being “Stalinist”. And all these communist emblems, symbols, badges and slogans – z Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Maoeven Lenin – treated very differently from Nazi symbols. Mostly with kindness. Nostalgia. While smiling. At best, with indifference.
There are two September dates in Polish history
Poles are wiser in assessing the 20th century than Western Europeans, because our history remembers not only September 1, 1939, but also September 17. Because recently 85 years have passed since Soviet Russia joined the German aggression and carried out the fourth partition of Poland. Both totalitarianisms in action, in specific decisions affecting millions of people, have shown that they can work perfectly, even exemplarily, in perfect symbiosis. This is due to their equally destructive nature. However, what the ideologies of Nazism and Marxism have in common is the desire to destroy the “old world”, which grew out of the Christian tradition. In the first case, in the name of the irrationalism of ancient German mythology, and in the second – in the name of the dangerous Marxist utopia. In both cases, what occurs is irrationalism, even though both ideologies use reason and science.
In the Polish collective consciousness, unlike in the West, there were also Ribbentrop and Molotov, who, acting on behalf of Hitler and Stalin, signed the death warrant for Poland, the Baltic states and Finland at the end of August 1939. It was about reaching an agreement between two genocides biggest in our culture (the king of world genocide was the communist Mao Zedong). Hitler had a loyal ally, Stalin. Unfortunately for him, and to the benefit of Europe and the world, he is also obsessed “Lebensraumu” (living space), so he signed his own decision to attack the Soviet Union. If, instead of going to Moscow, he had continued to buy raw materials from Stalin (and deliveries of raw materials from Russia to Germany in 1940-41 broke records), then the fate of the world would have been completely different.
Stalinist inspiration
Although Nazism viewed the world from a racial perspective and Communism from a class perspective, they proved equally effective in destroying the foundations of Europe. By taking away freedom, private property, civil liberties, human rights, displacement, imprisonment, forced labor, torture and murder. These two ideologies have the same enemy. That is the ideal of the Western world. Athens and Jerusalem. Rationalism which has its roots in ancient Greece and Judeo-Christian ethics which has its roots in the Bible. That is what the political right wing maintains and defends to this day.
Soviet Russia’s war victory against the Third Reich was brilliantly exploited after the war by left-wing groups, who guaranteed themselves the exclusive right to level accusations of fascism in politics. It seems that this propaganda was inspired by an idea Stalinwhich has existed Polish government in exile And AK he called them fascists.
The manipulation turned out to be effective. So effective that millions of Westerners still have difficulty seeing that the danger of destruction lurks not on the right but on the left.
