Boris Johnson’s secret plan. He is building an alternative alliance in which he wants to involve Poland – Wprost

The Italian daily “Corriere della Sera” claims that the British Prime Minister has been weaving his “web” for more than a month. For the first time, Boris Johnson will present his plans to Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Kiev. The alliance will be led by Great Britain, which will also include Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and then potentially Turkey. Italian journalists say that the new alliance will unite countries that are increasingly distrustful of Brussels and evaluate Germany’s reaction to the war in Ukraine negatively.

In this way, London will not only support Ukraine, but also upset the balance in Europe and regain its influence after Brexit. The government in Kiev did not officially take a position on Johnson’s initiative, but at the same time did not criticize him. According to an Italian newspaper, the Ukrainian elite has realized that Germany and France don’t really expect to beat Vladimir Putin. President Zelensky, on the other hand, will be waiting for the EU summit to be held on June 23. If the fate of Ukraine’s candidacy in the European Union is not decided there, Zelensky will take Johnson’s proposal more seriously.

Great Britain not only supports Ukraine

England is one of the countries that since the beginning of the war, it has provided the greatest support for Ukraine. However, the UK is not limited to Ukraine. Recently, Prime Minister Boris Johnson signed an agreement with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on strengthening military cooperation and guaranteeing security in case of aggression by Russia. “The war in Ukraine forces us to make difficult decisions, but a sovereign nation must be able to make such decisions freely, without risking pressure or retaliation,” Johnson said at the time.

Earlier, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace in his speech on the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe said that Poland, as well as other countries willing to provide Ukraine with Russian-designed jets, could count on support from Britain. . “If Poland decides to do this, we will support them,” Wallace said. – Britain will support countries that want to send to Ukraine jets designed by Russia – he added.

After Boris Johnson’s visit to Kiev, the Ukrainian president thanked him for increasing sanctions against Russia and strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Zelenskiy emphasized that Western countries should follow the example of Great Britain in terms of sanctions against the Kremlin. – Other democratic western countries should follow the example of Great Britain. It’s time to introduce a full embargo on Russian energy operators, to increase the number of weapons handed over to us,’ Zelenskiy said.
