Thus, the drama ensemble maintained the success of 2015 and 2016, when School of Women and Poprask na lagoň became Comedy of the Year. The award was presented on Wednesday, May 4, at the Grand Festival of the Laughter Gala.

“We have always loved going to the Pardubice Grand Festival of Laughter, participation in itself is a great honor for us. The fact that we managed to win three awards this year is simply amazing. We are very excited about it and a great encouragement to continue working not just for the ensemble. drama, but for the whole theater,” said Kateřina Dušková, head of the drama ensemble, which received one of the awards on May 4 – Comedy of 2021.

In the past, FX alda’s Theater Drama Ensemble has won the grand prize – Comedy of the Year – Grand Festival of Laughter twice, for its production of School of Women (2015) and Poprask na laguně (2016), which has also won three other partial awards. Like in 2016, this time DFXŠ beat home theater and won the hearts of the audience. Semaphore, a musical comedy by Jiří Jank and imon Dominik, also received the 2021 Comedy of Audiences award.

This year’s Grand Festival of Laughter was originally scheduled for the start of the year in January, but due to the epidemiological situation, its start was postponed to April 22, 2022, the show lasted until May 3, when the last of the seven participating ensembles was performed. Theater FX alda was originally supposed to make audiences laugh at the East Bohemian Theater on January 29, but Semaphore didn’t perform until April 30. In the end, only two theaters out of a total of seven competitions won festival awards – the FX alda Theater (Semaphore) and the Prague Drama Club (Ošklivec).

2022 was a very successful year for DFXŠ in terms of awards. In mid-April, the opera ensemble won two Libuškaas for their performance at the 2022 Opera Music Theater Festival in Prague, where on 29 January 2022 they performed Janáček’s opera The Adventures of the Cunning Fox. After a cultural hiatus of nearly two years, DFXŠ released its accumulated staging gems to the world and earned them the admiration they deserve.

A string of success will be followed ambitiously by the next premiere, which is straight. Since the beginning of the year, he has been preparing the author’s fantasy play for the whole family – The Legend of the Misty Mountains, which, for the first time in history, will evenly connect the entire theater of three ensembles – ballet, drama and opera . The world premiere, which will be a major social event, is scheduled for May 20 and 22, 2022.
