War in Ukraine. Joe Biden’s categorical declaration – Wprost

Joe Biden published his position on Twitter. “I want this to be clear: We will defend every inch of NATO territory with all NATO forces united and mobilized. But we are not going to war with Russia in Ukraine. A direct confrontation between NATO and Russia meant World War III. This is something we should try to prevent.” – wrote the president of the United States.

NATO countries and the United States support Ukraine financially and by supplying it militarily. The North Atlantic Alliance, however, did not decide to send troops to Ukraine, and the idea of transferring MiG-29 fighters to Poland recently failed. After the urgent NATO summit on Friday March 4, the Alliance chiefs steadfastly refused to send both planes to Ukraine and closed the airspace.

What is a no-fly zone?

The Stefan no-fly zone (NFZ) is a closed part of the airspace. Once introduced, it is forbidden to stay in certain areas of the aircraft type. No-fly zones were established to prevent enemy air attacks on certain areas during armed conflict. The country or group of countries that stipulates the prohibition supervises the implementation of the prohibition. Depending on the findings, enforcement of the prohibition may consist of carrying out preventive strikes, using force against aircraft violating the flight zone, or simply monitoring compliance with the prohibition without resorting to force.
