Construction of the 187 km long dam on the Polish-Belarusian border is nearing completion. The Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard, General Tomasz Praga, informed last week that the work should be completed by July 15. The walls consist of spans 5 m high topped with coils of barbed wire. In the fall, the electronic protection of the dam should be in place, namely the camera and sensor system.

The Border Guard Commander argued during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on internal affairs and administration that the effects of the investment were already visible. During a speech in New York, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s Central Bureau of Multilateral Diplomacy, Irina Wieliczko, asked Warsaw to tear down the wall, notifying the state-owned Belarusian BełTA agency.
