Victory will advance in ranking
Meronk will move up to seventh in the DP World Tour Ranking and will also be promoted to the Official World Golf Ranking.
The 29-year-old from Wrocław has made three podiums in the DP World Tour series this season. In May he finished third at the Dutch Open and Catalunya Championships, in March at the Qatar Masters he was also bottom of the podium. In September 2021, he finished second at the DS Automobiles Italian Open, when the series was still called the European Tour.
In each competition he is accompanied by a caddy – Stuart Beck from Scotland.
The Irish Open is a tournament with a long tradition – it was played for the first time in 1927. It was held every year until 1950, except during the Second World War. It was played in 1953, and then there was a long hiatus. Competition resumed in 1975.
