In the new ALT service, Amedia’s +Alt subscribers get access to the journalism of more than 100 newspapers and websites in one place.
Amedia +Alt premium subscription is now expanded with a new service for news. ALL, subscribers get a personalized journalism news feed of the newspapers they are most interested in.
Here’s how it works
The service also has a “find” function where users find cases from across countries tailored to individual interests.
In other words, you now get even more out of your ØB subscription.
– With alt. no we make it easy for all our Alt + subscribers to find news from the areas and topics that interest you. You can choose your favorite newspaper, so you can keep up with what’s going on in the cabin or in the town where you grew up, says editor in charge Alexander Gjermundshaug at ØB.
– Many dream of a place where they can find the news that is most important and relevant to them, and we’ve tried to solve that need with ALT. Users themselves choose which newspapers they want to follow, and then cases are conveniently collected in one news stream. This way you get a personal front page tailored to your interests, explains Ole Werring, product manager for ALT services at ei pers conference.

Access to the largest editorial network in Norway
Amedia represents Norway’s largest editorial network, and at ALT + Alt, subscribers get access to journalism from over 100 newspapers and websites. Amedia is the owner and publisher of national and local media houses across the country, and owns several newspapers and groups of newspapers with which it works.
– We at Amedia are proud to be the closest to local communities across the country. We know that the most important news in the world happens where people live, but we also know that a lot of it has its roots in several local communities. People want news from the village where they grew up, the city where their children study, or from the valley where they have a cottage, and they find it in EVERYTHING, says Jostein Larsen Østring, news director at Amedia at Press conference.
+Alt subscribers now get access to a large selection of online newspapers at alt.no, there will also be an app available on the Appstore and Google Play in the future. Previously, subscribers had access to eNews, live sports and the Untold podcast app.
– ALT is a service that makes our world of content more accessible. As a user, you get access to a wide variety of media houses, and to important journalism that provides a better understanding of all of Norway, says Larsen Østring.

To be developed further
Since +Alt launched in 2020 and provides users with access to a large number of newspapers from all over Norway, Amedia has been working on developing a service where users can more easily access relevant material from the newspapers they are interested in.
As of April 16, +Alt has more than 360,000 subscribers, this includes 200,000 who have subscribed themselves, and 160,000 who have recently gained access through their subscription to the newspaper. A total of more than 520,000 people have access to +Alt, either through their own subscription or through family sharing.
– EVERYTHING really shows how far we have come in our digital journey. This is a service that we will continue to develop to meet the needs and desires of users. I firmly believe that this service will occupy a unique position in the Norwegian media landscape, said Werring and added:
– We see that our subscribers really benefit from their +Alt subscription, and find relevant journalism for them from several newspapers. Because of this, many people find access to our world of content valuable, and with ALT I believe many more people will enjoy it.
