All world sports in Oppdal

OPPDAL: If all goes to plan, Time Out Sportsbar will open on Saturday January 31st. – Now we have received our organization number and we can submit our papers to the city council, says Johnny Johansen. He said they will have to get a liquor license approved by the city if they want to open as planned. Mats Egil Toftaker will be the pub’s general manager.

All kinds of sports

– We will set up a number of TV screens, and we will show everything from football, curling, winter sports, and of course as desired, he said. The bar will be renovated and it will be a cocktail bar. – We will have a variety of different beers and drinks, Johansen said. Simply put, American food will also be served, including burgers, nachos, chicken wings and pizza. – We focused on making it simple, he said. At the Club Alpin location, they won’t do much, and here it will be an activity room. – We’re going to put in a pool table, a darts table and a big shuffle table, he said. Apart from that, they have also registered with several British supporters’ clubs, such as Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. Here they will order the supporting effects that will decorate the pub.

Local ownership

There is a lot of sport here in Oppdal, and Johansen wants to create local ownership. – All teams and associations must each have their own stand in the pub. “I encourage everyone to bring clothing, both new and old photos, trophies and more,” he said.

Teams and associations who want to donate something for their stand can contact Johnny Johansen or come to Opdalingen during the day and drop it off.

Alcohol free event

One weekend a month there will be an alcohol-free event for those under 18 years old.

– On Friday we will have a disco for under 18s, while on Saturday there will be an event for 18s and over. When Johansen got the opportunity to open a pub, he never doubted that it would be a sports pub he would open. – This is something that Oppdal needs. “I’ve spoken to a few people who have indicated that they miss a pub where they can sit and watch the sport they want,” he said. The age limit is 20 years.
