New hit for Hauger: – Are you serious?
Formula 2 driver Dennis Hauger had problems early on at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, eventually finishing 16th.
Competitor Marcus Armstrong was hit from behind by David Beckmann, causing the car to spin. It passed through Hauger, who crashed into it and destroyed the front flank.
– Are you serious? said Hauger followed by a few words censored over the radio.
At the depot, the technicians struggled to remove the old wing, but eventually he was back on track and able to continue racing.
When the safety car came in, Hauger quickly climbed to 14th, but after ten laps he entered a pit stop to change tires and was thrown back on the court again. Just five rounds later he moved up to 13th, but he couldn’t advance any further.
At tamp, the hope of points was lost and therefore the Norwegian driver changed tires again to get a good final lap.
– He’s been to the depot three times. Unfortunately, it has gone from bad to worse this weekend here, sadly, sums up Atle expert Gulbrandsen.
Hauger struggles, we have to believe in the main character himself.
– It’s hard after the injury. I feel there is damage to the car, and generally look for it. I could barely hold the wheel,” Hauger told Viaplay.
Japan’s Ayumu Iwasa won the race ahead of Theo Pourchare and Frederik Vesti.
