BisGens Tidende (BT) is one of the largest media houses in Norway, and the largest newspaper with a publisher outside of Oslo. Bergens Tidende content can be found on all digital surfaces. We are constantly working to explore new formats for our content through, for example, podcasts or shows. Bergens Tidende has 231,000 daily readers and approximately 80,000 subscribers. Bergens Tidende is part of Schibsted Norge with a broad product portfolio for paper, web, tablet and mobile.

The department is the world’s best at SK Brann coverage, with podcasts and concept TV Ballspark as its flagship. In addition, we cover top and grassroots sports in the west, with news, feature material and TV productions from both tournaments and major events such as the Stoltzekleiven opp and the Bergen City Marathon.

We are looking for a strong and digitally oriented professional manager, with ambitions to take the sporting coverage at Bergens Tidende one more level.

You’ll be the driving force behind journalistic innovation and content development in a variety of formats and genres: from sports news to visual storytelling to podcasts in the studio or on stage.

We are looking for someone who can handle high tempo and long term reporting management, strong in press ethics and digital storytelling.

You are an attractive manager, who works systematically to achieve the goals set by the department, and who is passionate about developing the people around you.

As a sports manager, you are part of the middle management group at BT. Position reporting to news editor.
