This project will evaluate Norway’s qualifying failure: – Brutal and very frustrating
The Norwegian Football Association has set up a project group to analyze what went wrong when Erling Braut Haaland and Norway failed to get an EC ticket.
Norway’s participation in next year’s European Commission play-offs in Germany fell short of the recently concluded qualifiers. There are also no additional opportunities during the rematch in the national league.
– We will do a proper job where we evaluate the work that has been done around qualifying, said football president Lise Klaveness.
At the same time, football leaders are confident that the national team management led by Ståle Solbakken is protected in the upcoming job.
Solbakken and Brede Hangeland will have a central role in the ongoing project work.
– The aim is for this to result in concrete steps in both the short and long term, said Secretary General Karl Petter Løken.
The national team manager signed a new contract with the NFF earlier this year.
– We have strong confidence in the way Ståle and the support staff work with the team. There are many stars in our team. “We feel this is a team that has strong security, competitiveness and cohesion,” Klaveness said.
He believes the Solbakken project has provided a foundation for the future.
