De Bruyne: – Haaland can score 800 goals
Kevin De Bruyne allowed himself to impress after getting Erling Braut Haaland as his Manchester City team-mate. Belgians believe spring may end on more than 800 hectares.
De Bruyne himself has been behind some of Haaland’s goals this season with the Norwegian spearman’s wonderful assists finding the back of the net.
Haaland has so far scored 159 goals across all the clubs he has played for. De Bruyne believes that number will double before his career ends.
– He’s already scored a lot of goals, so he could probably score 600, 700 and 800 if he stays injury-free and does the things he’s doing now, said De Bruyne.
The 31-year-old has played with many top strikers in his career. Among them, team-mates Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Agüero and Gabriel Jesus in addition to Haaland’s current strike partner, Julian Alvarez, who recently became world champion with Argentina. When asked where De Bruyne would rate Haaland, he was clear about his opinion of the 22-year-old Norwegian.
– They are very difficult to compare because they are so different. They all scored 300-400 goals. Erling is obsessed with goals in order to pass them, says De Bruyne.
– He is still a boy who enjoys his life and at the same time takes football very seriously. He loves scoring goals and that’s what I think is most unique about him. (NTB)
