Burial and funerary architecture (not only) in Bohemia in the past, present and near future
Death and burial are topics that our society has tended to avoid in recent years. Come and open your mind with us and learn news from the world of cemetery architecture from Filip Ditrich, Prague cemetery architect. The presentation will feature architecturally stimulating modifications, reconstructions and newly realized burial grounds along with objects that are an integral part of the cemetery – the ceremonial hall, the columbarium and the mausoleum. It’s not only about implemented projects, but also about architectural competitions and planned projects. There will also be a presentation on the Prague Cemetery and foreign trends.
The event will take place in the intimate and comfortable environment of Funeral Studios, which opened late last year in the old evangelical cemetery area and will also be accessible during open building weekend.
The event took place as part of the companion program of the Open House Prague festival, which will take place this year from 15 to 21 May 2023.
