Čiko the clown shortens children’s waiting times Health | News | Brno Gossip

The Brno Polyclinic on Žerotín Square is modernizing its equipment and environment. They recently acquired a new x-ray machine, which will speed up examinations, and on Tuesday they will open a children’s corner on their premises, where the clown Čiko will look after the children all morning.

According to director Rut Svobodová, doctors at Brno’s largest outpatient medical facility for children realize that, especially for small patients, it is vital that examinations are carried out quickly and that the environment allows waiting time to be spent playing and moving.

That’s why they had an architectural studio design a children’s corner in the front hall, which offers many activities. The artistic solution is based on children’s playfulness and imagination – it presents a village with colorful houses, where children can create their own masterpieces from mostly soft kits.

“Even if it’s cold or raining outside, you can still try playing here and using other didactic toys,” said the principal.

The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday – without speeches and formalities. “Children will definitely appreciate Chika the clown, who will play with them in the morning, do magic and create entertainment for them,” Svobodová said.

According to him, the public will also welcome the new x-ray equipment at the polyclinic – the images will be available soon and the examination time will be shortened. “The device is easily accessible even for disabled patients, and X-ray operators now do not have to leave the patient during the examination.” said the head of the polyclinic.
