00:01. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue consular services for men abroad
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed diplomatic missions abroad to resume consular services for men of mobilization age starting Saturday, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Ministry informed that the document templates were updated during a break lasting several weeks. The Ministry of Defense and other authorities have created mechanisms to update military records and synchronize them with the Ministry of Interior’s consular services for men aged 18-60.
Under the new law, in addition to the documents required to receive selected consular services, applicants must also submit their military registration documents in paper or electronic form.
– the ministry reported.
On April 23, Ukraine suspended consular services for men of mobilization age until May 18, criticizing Ukrainian citizens abroad who, according to authorities, expected help from the state and did not help it in the fight for survival.
In November, the BBC reported in a report based on data on illegal border crossings with Poland, Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia that almost 20,000 men had left Ukraine since the start of the war to avoid conscription.
