The world’s funniest pet photo charity competition has released the first samples of this year’s images. There’s still one more month until the deadline. Czech photographer Jakub Gojda was also among last year’s winners with an image of a horse “laughing” like its rider. The unanimous victory and the prize of nearly 60,000 crowns went to Zoe Ross and a photo of a puppy named Pepper.
The purpose of the Comedy Pet Photo Awards is not only to entertain people, but also to support animal welfare charities. This year, he intends to donate £30,000 (nearly 900,000 crowns) to the Dean Farm Trust, the London Inner City Kitties and the Wild at Heart Foundation.
“We hope that the photos we have just published as examples of what has been included in this competition will make the audience smile and hopefully attract other photographers, both amateurs and professionals, to share their shots as well,” said the competition co – founder Tom Sullam. “In addition, entry into the junior category is completely free this year and we also have additional prizes for the best videos,” he added.
In addition to receiving a cash prize of £2,000, the overall winner will be able to choose a charity from an approved list, which will then receive a further £5,000 cash donation. The finalists, selected by an expert jury, will be announced in mid-July and the winners in September. In addition, this year’s Public Awards were also announced, where people can vote for their favorites on the website (probably starting mid-July).
Entries can be submitted to the competition via the website www.comedypetphoto.com until 11 July 2022 at 23:59 London time.
