George Santos is a Republican who was elected to represent in November Congress in a district in New York. The politician became famous last week thanks to an investigation by The New York Times, which showed inconsistencies regarding his origin.
On Monday, Santos told the New York Post that he lied about his resume. He acknowledged that he did not work “directly” at Goldman Sachs and Citigoup and that he did not graduate from Baruch College in New York or any other university.

The congressman-elect also appeared on Fox News where he had trouble explaining the discrepancies in his resume. He circumstantively describes the letter stating that he is a “proud American Jew”. Tulsi Gabbard, the interviewer, indicated that her CV contained “blatant lies”. “My question is, are you not ashamed?” asked the reporter at one point.
