Because if we look back a month and a half, Viking has the same score as league leaders Bodø/Glimt, only behind on goal difference.

On their way there, they set a club record with ten straight wins. With three league games remaining, they have now recorded four defeats and one draw in the last five matches.

– We can play until tomorrow without scoring a goal, Vikings coach Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim told TV 2.

– Very disappointing. Really boosted performance, especially in the first round. “I don’t think we have activated the handbrake, but the last part is missing,” Viking forward Lars-Jørgen Salvesen told TV 2.

This meant a complete collapse for the Vikings for the second season in a row. In 2022, they have only one win (2-1 against HamKam) in the last 14 league matches.

The first half saw two teams who have not been able to make the most of it in recent times. The duel was tough and the intensity was endless, but the big opportunity never materialized.

– I liked the attitude and intensity of our game. We haven’t had that recently, so there are a lot of positives. At the same time, we must not give them anything, Vikings captain Zlatko Tripic told TV 2 at the break.

Viking also opened the second half well, but then HamKam took the lead just after the hour.

Morten Bjørlo shot from a distance of about 20 meters. The ball changed direction after HamKam striker Moses Mawa’s flick, which made Viking goalkeeper Patrik Gunnarsson completely absent.

– It’s really delicious. As a striker, bad goals are the best. Instead of crossing, Mawa told TV 2.

The goal at the end of the game was a major blow for a Vikings team who had performed well in the first hour. A few minutes later they had another nose thief.

Aleksander Melgalvis crossed behind Oliver Kjærgaard, but the Dane was able to throw himself and kick the ball into the corner.

Jonas Enkerud completed HamKam’s celebrations with the score 3-0 in extra time after a great lob from distance. It was his first league goal of the season.

– It’s deep inside. “It was great to complete a good match with him,” Enkerud told TV 2.

PS: Ham Kam Pål Alexander Kirkevold received his fourth yellow card of the season. That means he will miss the away game against Strømsgodset on November 12.
