210th anniversary of the Battle of Chlumec

Ústí will experience a reconstruction of Napoleon’s battles and engagements, which will commemorate the 210th anniversary of the famous clash between the Austrian, Russian and Prussian coalition forces and General Vandamme’s French army. The main battle of Saturday on September 9 would traditionally take place on the battlefield of the Chlumec pod Horkou. You can look forward to military camps, troop marches, and of course, skirmishes and battles. Primarily, Saturday’s army deployed artillery with 15 guns and cavalry with 30 horses in addition to infantry. 250 soldiers will fight at Chlumec!

Single entry fee for ages 18 to 65 is CZK 70.

ELBE DOC

6 – 9 September 2023, Hraničář and Bunkr Cinemas, Ústí nad Labem

AIAI. With this unusual relationship, the ELBE DOCK International Film Festival closes its 6th year as a theme and foreshadows that this year will focus on the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence in the audiovisual arts. In addition to competition films, it will also offer a selection of the best European feature debuts, films made with artificial intelligence, programs for children, as well as unusual musical debates and experiences. The Ústí Regional Film Office is collaborating with the festival again this year.

Day of foster parents and sponsors at Děčín Zoo

More than one hundred and fifty foster parents and friends of the zoo will meet on Saturday, September 9, at the Děčín Zoo. The so-called Adoptive Parents’ Day will be held there. The zoo hosts it every year as a thank you to visitors for their financial support of the farm animals. Visitors can take a group walk around the zoo with director Kateřina Majerová and head keeper Petr Haberland, where they will learn not only about news, but also about the zoo’s future plans. There will also be traditional gatherings with music and refreshing drinks. Although Adoptive Parents Day is an invitation-only event, the zoo remains open as usual.

The Karlovy Vary spa center once again turns into the most beautiful and difficult triathlon track in the world this weekend! CITY TRIATHLON Karlovy Vary takes place here – the highlight of the program is the World Cup in Olympic triathlon on Sunday. Nine Czech representatives will compete at the start of the prestigious race, as well as Olympic winner Gwen Jorgensen and Morgan Pearson, silver medalist from the final race of the World Championships.
