The fact that Andrzej Duda sat next to Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin at the UN assembly dinner was no coincidence. America, as hosts, wants to show the Russian president that Poland is one of their most important allies – says political scientist and European expert from the University of Warsaw, Dr. Piotr Wawrzyk.
According to the expert, this is also a kind of “trick” for Putin not to underestimate Poland, because Poland is an important entity in international politics, and the opinion of our country matters a lot in Washington.
Several hundred people from all over the world gathered at the ceremonial feast. President Andrzej Duda was given a seat next to Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also sat at the same table.
