F1 22 represents the next step forward and goes beyond anything we’ve seen in previous games, improving the graphics side and introducing new modes that enhance the experience. Codemasters and EA Sports put only the best into this game. I can say that F1 22 is one of the best racing games released this year.

What makes F1 22 great are the many improvements to the basic technical aspects. The new cars look and sound amazing, the gameplay is really fluid and the physics and new cars will challenge even absolute pros, at least in the beginning. The supercars in Pirelli Hot Laps are fun, but I think licensing issues are preventing Codemasters from implementing them deeper into the game. The new additions are just minor improvements and don’t always feel fancy. But I have to commend Codemasters for trying to add some new things to the game, even though overall they played it safe. But at the end of the day, what matters on the track, and in that respect, F1 22 delivers the best the series has ever had to offer.

For fans of Formula 1, it is now easier to recommend F1 22. There are significant changes that not only update, but also expand the game, making it more interesting and fun. The only real disappointment was F1 Life, which felt like a fundamentally good idea, only very poorly executed. Of course, the absence of a story mode will also be a disappointment to some. But the reality is that F1 22 takes a few steps forward and a few steps back at the same time. But the good news at the end of the day is that in terms of excellent gameplay and career mode, this game is still on top.

F1 22 managed to step up the game last year by developing its driving model around Formula 1 rules. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of the amount of content present in this iteration. It could be said that the novelty got stuck somewhere in the middle of the road.

Despite the futile F1 Life and some odd bugs, F1 22 maintains its solid foundations while tightening up the race and offering more options.

Codemasters has done a great job reproducing the regulatory changes that revolutionized the world of F1. F1 22 is a fun game that is impressive to look at and excels with above-average artificial intelligence and a driving model that perfectly captures the simcade concept.

The F1 series is starting to look more and more like FIFA. Bright colors, modern music and the first outline of what could soon be the Ultimate Team alternative to the FIFA series. I’ll forgive Codemasters this year, but until next time, they’ll have to deal with this EA’s microtransaction crap.

Screen rant

While the F1 22 is far from being a predatory monetization model, its presence is still a disappointment for the series. It feels out of place in an excellent game, to say the least.

F1 22 is technically amazing, and that, combined with the ability to drive this year’s car on this year’s track, will make it irresistible to Formula 1 fans. If, of course, they manage to ignore the outrageous F1 Life.
