Normann recently signed for Russian club Dinamo Moscow. It has made big headlines. On Monday, Nettavisen wrote that the controversial club selection is now leading the Kiwis to take action.
Normann, along with Celin Bizet Ildhusøy of the women’s national team, led an advertising campaign for one of Tine’s dairy products. Posters showing this are now being removed from stores.
– This was a campaign that had been planned for a long time, and before news of the club change was known. We have now decided to remove the poster from our store. “We’ve asked all of our stores to remove the poster, but it may take a few hours before it’s done everywhere,” Kiwi communications manager Kristine Arvin told Nettavisen.
The Norwegian Football Association has decided that Normann is ineligible for national team matches at this time.
Kiwi stated that the NFF was not involved in the decisions that had been taken regarding the advertising campaign. At the same time, communications manager Arvin emphasized that wholesale chains are in line with unions in this regard.
Tine said the same thing.
– This campaign was planned and executed prior to Normann’s signing and the announcement that he was no longer relevant for national team matches. We certainly support the NFF’s assessment and have decided in close dialogue with Kiwis that we will remove any posters that are still in store, said press officer Tanita Kveinå.
It was Russia’s war in Ukraine that made Normann’s club choice controversial.
