The tool is a scale from 0 to 10.
Based on a number of criteria, Alfie Haaland’s father and the rest of the team ranked the clubs concerned. This is revealed in a new documentary from Viaplay.
Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain. Some of the biggest and best clubs in the world are entered into a points system to find the next club for one of the most wanted strikers in the world.
The highest total score must indicate the most recent club. Perhaps the most important is the question:
“Who needs number nine?”
Simply put, the traditional top tip.
There is a lot to do between Haaland and his new club. But in the documentary Viaplay, Haaland says he’s never been afraid to make the wrong choice:
– Nothing can go wrong. That’s what’s really good. This will be very good.
– Silent click
In the documentary, Alfie and Erling Braut Haaland reveal new details of the process surrounding the selection of the club’s next star striker. In an interview conducted in February this year, Haaland said that there were between five or six clubs – in fact he could cut it down to three.
All options are top clubs in the world’s best leagues. And the points system is widely used to determine which team is the best.
Alfie Haaland explains in the documentary how they thought during the process. Manchester City got the full pot for an important criterion: Who needs the number nine?
– City insisted they needed him. While Real Madrid are in position five-six with (Karim) Benzema now. Did they get (Kylian) Mbappe? Bayern Munich is one, they don’t need the number nine. They have the best player at number nine (Robert Lewandowski). But if he leaves, then no one else, said Haaland’s father.
Earlier this summer, Erling Braut Haaland signed a contract commercial collaboration with Viaplay, including as an ambassador. Pastor Alfie Haaland also plays a Viaplay expert.
Summon the team on the leaderboard
Erling Braut Haaland said in the documentary Viaplay that it was gut feeling in the end. That’s what brought him to Dortmund.
– If I sit like this, Haaland said and closed his eyes, before continuing:
– … and think that I put on this kit and that, and score that goal and celebrate, how does it feel? Does it taste good or not? Does it taste really good? And pay attention to some things like that, then we will see how it turns out in the end.
The list he can choose from is exclusive – he can choose from the biggest teams in the world. Alfie Haaland reveals how the team lined up in February 2022.
– City are the best team, I think. Munich is number two. Then you have Real Madrid as number three. And then you have PSG as number four. You have some pretty good English teams. Neither Liverpool nor Chelsea. Then there’s Barcelona. They’re sort of on the same line. Liverpool is up there.
Perhaps the most surprising is Bayern Munich – Borussia Dortmund’s biggest rival – is at the top of the list. Despite the fact that at that time they still had Robert Lewandowski at home.
– It would have been quite controversial to go to Munich, for all intents and purposes. But when you get past it, you’re going to one of the best teams, and there’s no doubt that… On our list, they’re number two. Currently, he said in an interview from February.
– 15 people said I should come to City
But little has changed from the conversation in February, until the election was made – at least at the very top of the exclusive rankings.
After what he describes as a few more difficult months, Haaland finally ended up in light blue.
He revealed that it was welcomed more than the fans, Guardiola and managing director Ferran Sorriano. When facing Manchester City in the Champions League with Dortmund, many want to bite.
– After two games, I think there were 15 people who said I should come to City. Stones and Ruben Dias said it, Gündogan said it, Foden… There’s a lot. De Bruyne said it, said Haaland.
At the same time, he downplayed the claim that it was money that decided that the choice fell on City:
– That is not true. First of all, I have to say that. You can never control and decide what people think and say about you. I have studied it over the years as a football player. I can’t care less about things like that. They can only believe what they want.
