Haaland scores twice on his Champions League debut for Manchester City – crushes Sevilla 4-0

Once again, Haaland scored in his debut game. Jærbuen was also successful in his first Premier League appearance and showed similar qualities at Salzburg (Austria) and Borussia Dortmund (Germany).

On Tuesday, 20 minutes passed before the Haaland show started. He ran free and put the ball from Kevin De Bruyne into the empty Sevilla cage with a full volley. The goal came after a brilliant City attack.

– He’s like an animal in a box. Unstoppable, said TV 2 football expert Jesper Mathisen in a live broadcast.

Midway through the second half, Haaland easily made it 3-0 through a goalkeeper return. Up front, he’s at the center of the build-up game.

Nine minutes earlier, Phil Foden had doubled City’s lead from 15 yards after a sneaky shot. In extra time, Rúben Dias scored the visitors’ fourth goal.

Haaland did not get a hat-trick. City manager Pep Guardiola took him off the pitch with about 20 minutes remaining. With appearances in Spain, Haaland took his tally to 25 goals in 20 Champions League games.

The striker has taken English football by storm and scored ten goals in his first six Premier League games. Now he is also in the most prestigious club tournament in the world.

Sevilla appear tame at home. La Liga teams have also been sideways in the domestic series with just one point from four matches.

Earlier in the evening, Borussia Dortmund won 3-0 over FC Copenhagen in their own main hall. Next week, Haaland will be visited by his old club in Manchester.
