Hegerberg proudly celebrates Norway win – NRK Sport – Sports news, results and broadcast schedule

– It’s important to celebrate joy on a day like today, Hegerberg told NRK.

It was a very special setting around a private international match against New Zealand.

Where the Pride parade was canceled after the Oslo murders, police gave the green light to fight on the national arena. With mourning bandages and rainbow colors, the players and spectators held a minute’s silence before the start of the match.

“You would be very proud and grateful that you were allowed to play for the Norwegian national team on a day like this,” Caroline Graham Hansen told NRK.

– About standing together

The match was one of two warm-up matches for the European Championships, and the home side are also out in a hundred games since the start. Julie Blakstad started what ended up being a storm, but the New Zealand goalkeeper Victoria Esson stood in the street time and time again.

Hegerberg could have added a goal to the visitors’ advantage had his free-kick been a little lower.

The 26-year-old celebrated by borrowing Maren Mjelde’s rainbow-colored captain’s bandage and lifting it up to the sky and the crowd.

– What to say… When things like that happen… It’s about standing together and showing love, Hegerberg said of the celebration.

– It’s a very special day. “It’s important to entertain the crowd, who are here to cheer us on,” said the 26-year-old.

– Matches with some debris inside

The second half was much less exciting than the first, but four minutes of extra time Guro Bergsvand made it 2-0. The midfielder volleyed the ball into the net after a corner.

– It was a match with some debris, Hegerberg admits.

National team manager Martin Sjögren believes Norway has a lot to work on before the European Championships.

– We created a lot. However, there are areas that we have to improve before the European Cup. Some players need some combat training, but it’s a step in the right direction, said Sjögren, who praised Guro Pettersen’s effort in goal.

– Did he finish in the European Championship?

– He at least made a very good match.

He did so despite the special framework. Pettersen points out that you get scared when you wake up to news like that.

A lot of my friends and teammates are celebrating in town, so of course you get really scared. At the same time, you have to perform when you are at work, and we are only human. This is something you have to deal with as a professional athlete, says Pettersen.

“Be who you are – love who you want to be”

The Hegerberg celebrations are in many ways an extension of the celebrations at Ullevaal for battle begin. Here a minute’s silence is observed in memory of those who died after the shootings in central Oslo.

“Be who you are – love who you want to be” and “Football is for everyone”, are messages where there are usually advertisements around stadiums.

For me, it’s easy to motivate yourself to make people happy in battle. “I’m proud that they support Norway, and proud that they spent their time coming to Ullevaal on a day like this,” Graham Hansen told NRK.

More choices

More than 16,500 tickets have been announced for the previous game, and in that respect it would surpass the record from 2000 when 15,762 saw Norway face the US before the Olympics.

In the end, 12,657 spectators turned up, and the shooting in central Oslo could certainly hold some more.

This weekend, a number of elite league matches will also be played. Several clubs have posted posts in rainbow colors on social media.

Rosenborg, who beat Kristiansund 3-1 in Lerkendal, announced earlier that the pride celebrations will now become even more important.

I think all the football is together today and all our thoughts go to the bereaved and relatives. It will be seen in all stadiums. I’ve seen that some have reported this, NFFs say Gro Tvedt Anderson to NRK.
