Slavia’s chairman of the board of directors of football, Jaroslav Tvrdík, who was being treated for an oncological illness, is feeling better.
The boss of the defending Czech champions is not yet fully well, but his condition allows him to return to work at the club after about four months.
Doctor Tvrdík diagnosed a serious illness in March. “As you know, I have cancer, it cannot be cured quickly. I am an oncology patient and will survive for many years, maybe until the end of my life. I am not completely healthy, I am struggling, I firmly believe, not with cancer anymore. , but with medical consequences ” says Tvrdík.
“I’ve had surgery, radiation. I’ll be fighting for months, maybe years, but right now my health allows me to come back. I don’t want to sit at home between four walls anymore, I’m really looking forward to work. I think the club needs to come back. I believe that I will be healthy, I am very happy that I am back in Slavia,” added Tvrdík.
The former minister was grateful for the support he received from rival clubs. “I received thousands of messages from fans, I was touched and shocked. I also want to thank the managers of other clubs, especially Sparta, Viktorka Plzeň or Baník. It turns out that when it comes to serious matters, competition rules out . I really appreciate it,” said Tvrdík.
