Ingebrigtsen and Warholm could be the world’s best athletes this year
Track and field stars Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Karsten Warholm are among the nominees for the male athlete of the year category at the WA awards.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (WA) has announced the list of eleven athletes.
Ingebrigtsen won the 5,000 meters at the WC and took silver in the 1,500 meters. He also broke European records at 1500 metres, the British mile and 3000 metres.
Hurdle runner Karsten Warholm won the World Championships in the 400 meter hurdles and topped the indoor 400 meter hurdles at the European Championships.
WA said the eleven athletes would be whittled down to five finalists. The WA council vote is counted at 50 percent. The rest is provided by the public via email and WA media channels.
