Three magical minutes Liverpool brought down Fulham
Liverpool beat Fulham 2-1 in the first of two League Cup semi-finals.
Willian's goal gave Fulham a shock lead at Anfield in the 19th minute.
The Brazilian danced past several Liverpool defenders. The 35-year-old slotted the ball into the net ahead of a distraught Virgil van Dijk who was unable to head the ball across the face of goal.
– This will be a miserable finish by van Dijk, says Viaplay football expert Jørgen Tjærnås.
– Buzzing in Liverpool's back line, adds commentator Andreas Toft.
But Liverpool will fight back. Curtis Jones struck from around 20 meters after just over an hour. The ball went past Tosin and fell into the net behind the beaten Bernd Leno.
Less than three minutes later Liverpool attacked again, this time with two substitutes who had only been on the pitch for a quarter of an hour. Darwin Núñez delivered a low cross into the box which Cody Gakpo sensitively stabbed home.
The match turned into 2-1 for Liverpool. The second leg will be played in London in a week's time and it will be decided who will play in the League Cup final on February 25.
Middlesbrough won 1-0 over Chelsea in the first leg of the second semi-final which was played on Tuesday night.
