Johannes Høsflot Klæbo needs to be calm in training – the injury won’t go away

Klæbo has been struggling with a hamstring injury since mid-July. He has been training alternatives in a bid to get fit for the start of the season.

On Thursday, he met with selected media, including NTB, for Tim’s interview. There, Klæbo said that he will now calm down in training to see if his injury heals faster.

Steps to reduce the training load have been done a few days ago.

– Obviously, what I’ve done so far hasn’t worked. Then you have to take other action. Boring, he said VG.

“grunt” in the thigh

Klæbo said that the injured thigh “mumbled” and that he had received a lot of intensive care recently.

The cross-country star has previously confirmed that he is sprinting when the cross-country runner opens the season in Beitostølen next weekend. It’s about saving the body.

Klæbo was slated to run both long-distance races, but he signaled that there was uncertainty around things at this point. This obviously also includes the opening weekend in Beitostølen.

– It’s hard to say anything further ahead than what will happen tomorrow, the 26-year-old said.

Don’t believe in victory before Christmas

Trnder returned home from Italy on Friday. The big and unanswered question is the extent to which injury problems will affect this season’s results.

– I would be surprised if I won a ski race before Christmas, said Klæbo.

A big destination this season for cross-country skiers is WC Planica in Slovenia in February. Before that time, there was a Tour de Ski starting at Space Christmas. What happened around Klæbo’s participation there is uncertain.

The World Cup kicks off in Finland’s Ruka on the last weekend in November.
