Website Team talk recently rated and named the 50 greatest football talents in the world.
On Tuesday, the top ten list was presented. At the top of the list sat Strømsgodset player Martin Ødegaard.
– Until last month, few had heard of the Liverpool fan now wanted by every club. But he deserves our magical title, the website wrote in its justification.
Queuing for signature
15-year-old Ødegaard has recently become the talk of the town far beyond Norway’s borders.
Big clubs such as Real Madrid and Ajax will be lining up to sign the exciting youngster, but for now the youngster is taking time to carefully consider his options.
Right behind him on Teamtalk’s list is Strømsgodset’s Barcelona talent Alen Halilovic.
The 18-year-old joined the Catalan club from Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb earlier this year and has made three appearances for Barcelona’s B team.
Halilovic, who is rumoured to be ready to break into the first team in a short time, became the youngest player ever to score in Croatia’s top division. He did so two years ago – at the age of 16 years and 112 days.
Brazil’s great talent makes the list
The third place on the list is occupied by Gabriel Barbosa from Brazil.
He is also still 18 years old and currently plays for big club Santos in his home country. There he is nicknamed “Gabigoal”.
At the bottom of Teamtalk’s list are 16-year-old Hachim Mastour (Milan) and Ajax’s Riechedly Bazoer. The latter is 18 and has long been linked with Manchester City, among others.
The final five in the top ten are Brazilian Mosquito (Atletico Paranaense, 18 years old), Youri Tielemans (Anderlecht, 17 years old), Neal Maupay (Nice, 18 years old), Ruben Neves (Porto, 17 years old), Seung-Woo Lee (Barcelona, 16 years old).
