Swedish destroyer surprise – Sundling did not pass the baton
Jonna Sundling is not part of the Swedish relay team.
The world champion of the team sprint and sprint was expected by many to advance to the 4th stage, but after a disappointing 10 kilometers was nowhere to be seen in the Swedish team.
Emma Ribom, Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist went to Sweden.
NRK expert Fredrik Aukland immediately opened his eyes when he saw the press release:
– I didn’t think anything of it!
– He has delivered in that championship. It was only natural for him to walk in the late stage, or at least one stage.
– Should he overtake Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlqvist?
– Yes, I think he should, but it could be something we don’t know. Based on the results, it was surprising he didn’t go, said Aukland, and believed this could open up opportunities for Norway.
– If Anne Kjersti Kalvå and Dahlqvist come out at the same time and there will be snow, as has been reported, it may be possible to back out before the sprint. The wand lived more than I thought.
The manager of the Swedish national team, Anders Byström, confirmed that Sundling was in good shape and wanted to appear in front of the press.
– Yesterday was Maja showing her skills. Jonna wants to run the baton. Everyone will do it. We have an incredibly good team, said Byström, according to Express.
Tiril Udnes Weng, Astrid Øyre Slind, Ingvild Flugstad Østberg and Anne Kjersti Kalvå left for the Norwegian team.
