Big win for Zuccarello and the Wild
Minnesota won 6-1 against the Nashville Predators on Friday night, Norwegian time.
Thus, Mats Zuccarello’s side have had a brilliant start under coach John Hynes, who came in after Dean Evason was sacked following seven consecutive defeats in November.
Hynes was the coach of the Nashville Predators for three and a half years, before he was fired in May.
The American took over the Wild team earlier this week and started with two wins in a row, at home against St. Louis. Louis Blues and now with a win over the Nashville Predators.
In the game against the Predators, Connor Dewar in particular stood out. Dewar scored 1-0, 5-0 and 6-1 for the Wild, his first hat trick in the NHL.
Mats Zuccarello got the assist that scored for a 3-0 goal, when Kirill Kaprizov tricked the puck into the net with a smart shot in overtime.
The Wild still have a lot of work to do if they want to make the playoffs. After 21 games, they stand with 18 points and are ranked 13th in the west division.
Zuccarello tops the scoring stats for the Wild this season, with 23 goals (18 assists and five goals), three more than teammate Kaprizov. The Norwegian has now scored in eight consecutive matches.
