Prime Minister Petr Nečas (ODS) will attend the funeral of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Wednesday, April 17 in London. Government spokesman Jan Hrubeš said this today. Former president Václav Klaus, a big admirer of “Iron Lady”, will fly with him to the funeral, said Petr Macinka of the Václav Klaus Institute.
The funeral will take place in St. Paul London, which can accommodate 2,300 people. It is said to be the country’s biggest ceremony since the death of World War II Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who died in 1965. Former Prime Minister Thatcher died in London on Monday. He is 87 years old.
