News from the world: juggling, Zwift and a better Garmin

Ending boredom while running

We were here a few days ago article with the craziest running records. I admit, the following records are not that crazy, but they are still far from “classic running”. It’s about juggling.

American Sarah Szefi managed to run the Chicago marathon in 4:02:30 and juggled three balls all the time! It is not without interest that this is her third fastest marathon, juggling sideways. But Sara is clearly not alone in this unusual hobby, there are many similar enthusiasts.

The last RUNGO race

RUNGO.cz will cease its activities on November 30th. Its last race will be a symbolic farewell. You will receive a commemorative t-shirt for registration on Sunday. Register today at RUNGO’s craft is carried out with heartbreakingwhich will take place on November 3 in Říčany near Prague.

So far the most visible is Barry Goldmeier, who juggles five balls in the same event. However, Barry has tried juggling objects such as bean bags, basketballs, or lacrosse balloons. Of course, this is an interesting tip for those who find it troublesome because they do not engage their shoulders and arms enough when running. And maybe one more piece of advice – if the ball falls, you don’t have to go back to the start.

Garmin studies Spotify

If you follow us FacebookYou probably already know this, but it never hurts to be reminded. If anyone has complained that music streaming on Garmin watches only works with Deezer, there’s good news.

Garmin has agreed to the same cooperation with the much more extensive and popular Spotify service. Compatibility is currently ensured with all types of Garmin Fenix 5 Plus. Let’s see if it can reach other models that can play music, the Forerunner 645 Music certainly deserves it. But if you have a new fenix, you only need Spotify Premium (free for three months for new users). Then all you need to do is download the Spotify app and start syncing your favorite playlists. If you are interested in more detailed procedures and evaluations of this service, let us know.

Try Zwift in winter

Even if it doesn’t look like it yet, winter is just around the corner and many runners will be thinking about whether to go outside or just train on a treadmill. Those who choose the latter option have probably been using Zwift for some time. The service, which was originally aimed at cyclists, added support for runners earlier this year and added some interesting new features before the winter, which could attract more fans. In simple terms, Zwift offers users the ability to run different routes, but they only follow them on the screen in front of them. Just have a compatible treadmill and footpod to check your speed.

The service itself is still free, but you have to pay for the mandatory equipment. You are not alone on the route, you meet other online runners’ virtual characters. Zwift has now included special routes intended only for running, so that much faster cyclists are no longer in the way. The routes have different lengths and altitudes. At the same time, there are training plans and improved integration with the Strava app, where you can complete various challenges via Zwift. In short, Zwift is trying to attract runners and is certainly an interesting alternative to winter running. So the next time you go to the gym, try asking if they plan to support Zwift.
