Repair from Germany. Sejm handles three projects – PiS, KO and KP-PSL
On Wednesday, September 14, the Sejm debated, among other things, on a draft resolution on the reparations by Poland for the damage caused by Germany during World War II. The documents were prepared by the following clubs: Law and Justice, Civilian Coalition and Polish-PSL Coalition.
The first reading took place at the parliament’s foreign affairs committee. Arkadiusz Mularczyk of Law and Justice presented his report to MPs. The politician announced that the PiS proposal was chosen as the “base project” because it was submitted first.
The PiS project concerns “seeking redress by Poland for the damage caused by Germany during World War II”. The resolution states that the Sejm “calls on the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to firmly accept political, historical, legal and financial responsibility for all consequences caused on the Republic of Poland and on the citizens of the Republic of Poland as a result of the waiver of World War II by the Third German Reich. “
“The Republic of Poland has never been compensated for personal and material harm caused by the German state” and “the Polish state represented has never waived its claim against the German state,” we read further.
