Fun at Oktoberfest

Apart from tasting Bavarian beer, visitors can also enjoy listening to Bavarian music groups. This year, consumers will pay less for a liter of beer, 14.90 euros (about 362 crowns).

You’ll pay more than three hundred for that ointment. After a two-year hiatus, the Oktoberfest beer festival begins in Munich

Since state elections will be held in Bavaria on October 8, many politicians arrived at Oktoberfest on the first day. Apart from Prime Minister Söder and Mayor Reiter, Hubert Aiwanger, head of the Free Voters (FW) party, was also seen in one of the tents. Aiwanger has faced controversy in recent weeks after it emerged that he took part in anti-Semitic competitions as a youth.

Oktoberfest was first held in 1810, so it is a festival with one of the longest traditions in Europe. Since then, it has become part of Bavarian folk culture, but is also visited by thousands of visitors from other countries.
