The European Commission has decided to put an end to the political spectacle of blocking the National Reconstruction Plan, carried out under the guise of non-compliance with the rule of law in our country. The deputy head of the European Commission also made strange remarks, claiming that violations of the rule of law no longer occur in our country because… Brussels “sees determination in actions aimed at improving the justice and prosecution systems.” Of course, this is a fairy tale for the naive. In fact, as wPolitce.pl knows, the decision was taken in mid-December, during Donald Tusk’s first visit to the Belgian capital as the new prime minister. One pro-German declaration was enough.

Contrary to what has been speculated for weeks, this is not just about a change of government in Poland and the reassignment of the prime minister’s chair by the head of the Civic Platform.
As specified by the portal wPolityce.pl, the important meeting took place on December 15, when, immediately after the government was sworn in, Tusk went to Brussels to attend the EU-Western Balkans summit, before the European Council meeting.
They welcomed him warmly, including: President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.
During his visit, Tusk learned that he had to forget about the position of Chairman of the European Commission. But after the autumn elections, he stated that if he immediately “cleans up after PiS”, he would probably resign as prime minister. Moreover, his coalition partners in offline talks between 15 October and 15 December confidently claimed that the government would only be for one year, as Tusk would return to Brussels, this time to take a more important position.
What happens in mid-December in Brussels? Platform Chair heard that Ursula von der Leyen wants to run for a second term on the Commission. Then a key question is asked:
What are your conditions for Poland to vote for me?
Tusk did not hesitate to answer:
Unlocks money for KPO.
Tusk’s meeting with von der Leyen lasted almost half an hour. Afterwards, at a press conference, the Chair of the European Commission announced:
The Commission is ready to transfer EUR 5 billion to Poland as pre-financing, i.e. as an advance payment. I look forward to close cooperation in achieving important milestones regarding judicial independence so that we can make the first payments
However, no one is waiting for any achievements. They are just one element of political theater used to put pressure on right-wing governments.
The deal was quickly approved and implemented, and today – with Vera Jourova’s speech – it was closed.
It must be admitted that the PO chairman was right – he was able to quickly unblock the illegally held funds to which Poland was entitled. But at the same time stopping any games in Brussels is in Poland’s interests.
The Commission will release these funds sooner or later, because the Commission can no longer interrogate left-liberal teams on the grounds of alleged violations of the rule of law, but Tusk’s cabinet could have a mechanism to influence decision-making in the European Union. society, put forward other demands in exchange for support for a second term of German women in European “governments.”
He decisively gave up.
